Telling Your Story - a Creative Arts Workshop
This workshop consists of a series of group discussions about: significant people, experiences, memorable events, challenges, obstacles and visions in our lives. This is a hands-on workshop that simultaneously integrates using the creative arts to express yourself and tell your story through the use of artistic mediums to create visual images of the stories.
The main focus of this workshop series is for the participants to:
* Understand the people and events in their lives that were (or are) positive and/or negative influences;
* Validate each person's experiences (and demonstrate to them that they are not alone in their experiences)
* Look at their own lives and learn about their cycles, patterns and life choices;
* Learn new paths and envision and/or embrace new directions.

Literature & Artistic Expressions
In this hands-on, literature-based workshop, participants will:
* Review a variety of "themed" multicultural literature to develop increased awareness of cultural traditions, nuances and practices; and to gain background information for helping students to make personal connections to literature.
* Create related artistic projects stemming from a literature base.
* Utilize a varitey of mediums to express themselves

Freeing and Nurturing the Writer in You
This workshop consists of a series of focused, creative activities designed to free the creative spirit in you through writing. Activities include: Guided writing, writing on cue, object stories, "Round Robin" writing; and other strategic exercises designed to assist writers in freeing and expressing the writer in you.
Cultural Awareness and Global Diversity
Goal: To provide a means for teachers to understand the diversity and interests of their student population and develop activities that will facilitate creating a community of learners. This workshop will include sevral hand-on activities that facilitate learning about our diverse backgrounds, interests and experiences. Each activity can also be conducted with students to enable teachers to laren about "who" is in their classroom (such as: students' background, significant experiences and interests). Teachers will be provided with a variety of "project-oriented" activities to implement in the classroom to engage students in telling their stories.
S.T.A.G.E. TV - Student Tolerance and Global Education Program
This workshop is geared to elevate student's awareness and understanding of diversity and its' impact on global issues. The target audience is youth (elementary through high school) and Adults. Area of focus: race, culture, ethnicity, national origin, language, lifestyle. The social issues this workshop will address include: poverty, housing, education, gangs, jobs, police harassmen & brutality, and health issues: AIDS/HIV, STD's, teenage pregnancy. These issues will be discussed through diverse lenses.
Multicultural Film Series & Discussions
This film series consists of screening of serveral multicultural films with related discussion and question and answer sessions. It is designed to stimulate conversation regarding pertinent events related to the history of inclusion, integration and change in the American story.
